District Soccer Playoffs
Congratulations to all our District Champions. Good luck in the CYC playoffs.
The Playoff is a single elimination tournament. All CYC rules apply, with the exception of the following overtime rules. As a reminder, 5th and 6th grade games will play 30 minutes halves, while 7th and 8th grade games will play 35 minutes halves.
If the teams are tied at the end of regulation, there will be a penalty kick shoot-out to determine which team advances in the tournament. The format for the shoot-out calls for each team to select five shooters from the players that were on the field at the end of regulation play. The teams alternate taking penalty shots at the signal from the official. The team that scores the most goals out of the five shots will advance. If the teams are tied at the end of the five shots, the teams will alternate taking penalty shots until one team scores a goal and the other team does not score a goal. Reminder: Only players on the field at the end of regulation can participate in the shoot-out.
You must have a valid CYC Coaches card. Coaches must have their roster and their player's CYC Cards.
Note: Only players, coaches and officials are allowed to be at field level at the KENNEDY venue. No FANS are allowed below the stands before, during, or after the game. Please refain from allowing children to take shots during halftime.
NEW for 2008 Finals
During all finals we will have two 10 minute overtime periods prior to the shoot-out. These overtimes will be a GOLDEN GOAL format, which means the game will end immediately when a team scores a goal.
